There are two graphs whice show the main reasons between study according to the age of students and employer support, by age group, in the UK.
The first graph show there is a gradual decrease in study for career. Under 26 age group is 80% for career; also there are only 10% of under 26 year olds studying out of interest. The percentage for interest grows dramatically in late adulthood. Nearly the same number of 40-49 years old study for career as for interest. The over 49 years old get 70% for interest., but 18% are studying for career reasons in that age group.
The second graph shows that employer support is maximum 60% for the under 26 years old. The percentage for the other ages drops rapidly between 26-39 years old and then increases 40-49 age group to 43%.
In conclusion, the number of students who study for career decreases with age. However when the people get older they study for interest.
